ABOUT

Kind words from my lovely clients...

"I look forward to Chair Yoga on Zoom because Rachel is knowledgeable, enthusiastic, caring, and sincere. She offers options so that we can individualize our exercise. She also sends us visual descriptions of poses and audio reflections. I look forward to my continued practice with Rachel."

- Allan, age 72

"Rachel couples her ongoing study of the body with a love of yoga that comes across in a positivity and enthusiasm for her students. Try a class and then notice your own body’s response. There’s a benefit and enjoyment to be shared in her classes!"

- Judy

"My husband and I highly recommend Rachel. Her compassion, generosity, punctuality, knowledge and follow through are valuable qualities that Rachel infuses in her carefully planned Zoom classes."

- Marti, age 72

"Rachel creatively weaves us from pose to pose while providing suggestions for modifications. Her knowledge of anatomy and willingness to share has helped me better understand something I am feeling within my body."

- Peggy, age 72

"Since I have started, I have noticed an increase in muscle strength, better balance,  an acute awareness of my posture and the benefits of learning how to breathe properly which is so very important."

- LuAnn

"As a 77-year-old female with Parkinson’s disorder, I am truly grateful for all she has done to help me remain physically active and emotionally positive."

- Sue

"Her presence is so warm, positive, caring, and encouraging that you feel really empowered by her and her teachings. Priority is given to safety, flexibility, balance, and building strength. Just what my aging body needs!"

Meet Your Yoga Therapist

I’m a self-proclaimed yoga nerd—endlessly curious about how these ancient practices can be adapted to support real people with real lives. I’ve seen how yoga therapy helps individuals reconnect with their bodies, regulate their nervous systems, and move toward a greater sense of peace, safety, and wholeness.

My mission is to share yoga in a way that feels empowering, accessible, and personally meaningful.

As a certified Yoga Therapist, I take a whole-person approach—co-creating individualized practices that support physical health, emotional wellbeing, and nervous system balance. Whether you're navigating stress, injury, trauma, or simply seeking greater vitality, we’ll build a plan that meets you where you are and supports where you want to go.

Areas of Focus

My primary interests and specialties include:

  • Trauma and mental health

  • Nervous system regulation and resilience

  • Healthy aging and vitality

  • Self-care support for healthcare and mental health professionals

  • Professional development in yoga-based mind-body tools for therapists

Training & Experience

Before yoga, I was living on autopilot—disconnected and overwhelmed. Yoga helped me come back to myself, and I’ve been sharing that path with others ever since.

I began teaching in 2010 and have continued to deepen my understanding through ongoing study in various yoga modalities, anatomy, meditation, and philosophy. I earned my M.S. in Yoga Therapy from the Maryland University of Integrative Health in 2020 and completed a 60-hour Integrative Somatic Trauma Therapy Certificate in 2025, expanding my trauma-informed, body-based approach.

Earlier in my career, I worked in pharmaceutical market research, which sparked my curiosity about the human body, biology, and approaches to healing—eventually guiding me toward yoga therapy.

I also hold a B.A. in Spanish (2004) and an M.S. in Retailing (2007) from Michigan State University and currently serve as adjunct faculty in the Yoga Therapy Department at the College of Integrative Health at Notre Dame of Maryland University.
